Andrew Gummer
Director, Business Affairs

Andrew qualified as a barrister but in a fit of boredom and penury answered an advertisement for EMI Music Publishers in the Times 25 years ago. Since then he has worked both in the music publishing and record industries at Virgin Records, Virgin Classics and the Virgin Music Publishing company then as Director and Deputy MD of Warner/Chappell in the UK, at Mushroom Records and latterly for a number of years at Boosey & Hawkes, now a part of the Imagem group. He spent a year out of the business designing and selling polo shirts and Breton tops but Ralph Lauren forced him out of business because the competition was becoming too intense.
Andrew revels in the breadth of his very varied experience in the music industry, ranging from dealing with the Metropolitan Opera to his proudly held credit on a Motorhead album. He has a particularly strong interest in how the industry adapts to the Internet and creating opportunities from the web rather than treating it as the final curtain for the industry.
